Chiana is a grey-skinned, female Nebari born on the planet Nebari Prime.

The Nebari are a strange race. All the male have black hair, and all the females have white hair--and their skin is immune to solar radiation. Although similar to humans in physiology, they have some very noticeable differences--one of them being that their blood and tears are blue. A small number of Nebari are actually natural hermaphrodites, called 'androgyne' by the Nebari (Chiana is not one of them). They also have a strange, alluring aura about them that can draw in both males and females. Their body produces a strong [internal] aphrodisiac.

On their home planet, conformity is enforced by The Establishment. Young Nebari are tested and placed into a position in society based on their abilities, and are expected to conform. Nebari failing to conform to these strict controls are "stabilized" or "mind-cleansed" to fit in. There are two types of mind-cleansing: The first is permanent (except in isolated cases), but takes cycles (years) to complete. The second is temporary, chemical-induced, and can be quickly applied, but does not work on all species; Nebari are immune to it, as are several other species. The Nebari Establishment claims to be acting for the "greater good" of everyone involved.

This didn't exactly sit well for Chiana, as she's a born rebel. She steals, talks back, fights has casual sex--and those are just a few things. Because of this, Chiana was captured by a Nebari enforcer and taken to be Cleansed, when the carrier transporting her malfunctioned. She and her two captors were taken aboard a Leviathan named Muya (a living ship), and through great trials she was helped by the crew, and her two captors removed.

She then joined the crew aboard the Leviathan--although it was hard for her to fit in because of her klepto tendencies at first. She's also got quite the attitude; Chiana's a little spitfire.

At one point during the series she was possessed by an Energy Rider (weird little alien thing), she started to experience precognitive visions as well as the gradual ability to see things in slow motion. But every time she used this, she experienced headaches and temporary blindness--until the blindness became permanent and she could no long see the future; or anything else for that matter.

Luckily for Chiana, the Leviathan crew was able to find a VERY talented Diagnosan (an alien race of doctors) that gave her new eyes that allowed her to see through walls and to see energy sources.

Chiana is a very...interesting person. She's very resourceful--when she goes to a new place, she always seems to find all the hiding places and escape routes. She's also very playful--in a...sexual deviant sort of way. She'll draw you in close, then kick you in the nads XD;; She's got a sharp tongue to boot.

She carries herself in a confusing demeanor; she prefers to crouch on objects, rather than sit or stand on them. And because of her body type, she can also be seen moving in a flowing sort of manner, never quite standing erect.

Despite all of this, she's a kind person on the inside and will help out when it's right. She also cares deeply for her brother Neri, a member of the Nebari resistance and wants to one day join him.

And although Nebari can live up to at least 320 cycles (years), Chiana is quite young and can act a bit immature.

Also note: XD Chiana doesn't speak any language known to Earth. She has translator microbes that do the translation for her. She can understand everyone else...but not the other way around.
